No Mandatory Online Classes

Doug Ford has decided - without any consultation, to implement mandatory online classes in Ontario High Schools. This will be a disaster.

No jurisdiction in North America has a requirement of two online courses to graduate.

Online courses are a way for the Ford government to continue its divestment in education. And the truth is many students find online courses challenging. The idea that teachers can be replaced by computers may work in The Jetsons but it will not work in Ontario.

Moreover, internet access across Ontario is not uniform. In northern and rural Ontario it will be a real problem for kids to access online learning.
