Steven Del Duca announced today that the management board of the Ontario Young Liberals has endorsed his candidacy.
TORONTO – The full Management Board of the Ontario Young Liberals (OYL) is supporting Steven Del Duca’s campaign for the leadership of the Ontario Liberal Party.
“People often say that youth are the future,” said Del Duca. “Ontario Young Liberals are not only the future – they are the present, and they play an important role in Liberal campaigns. Youth will have a seat at the decision-making table as we build a movement to defeat Doug Ford and put Ontario back on track.”
Del Duca knows from personal experience the important role youth play in the OLP. He joined the Liberal Party when he was just 15 years old, was a campus club president and he served a term as OYL Caucus Liaison.
“Steven's proposal to have 30 candidates under the age of 30, his focus on climate change and economic dignity, and his track record as champion for youth in our party are three examples of the emphasis he places on youth and youth issues,” said Ian Hall, President of the Ontario Young Liberals.
The Ontario Liberal Party will choose its next leader on March 7th, 2020. Del Duca was the first candidate to register and pay the full $100,000 party registration fee. He has received over 150 endorsements and has visited over 100 communities across the province.
